About CalQlate
Why this site exists
Every calculator site has the same problem. You work out your BMI, then want your BMR, so you go to another page and type your age, sex, height and weight again. Then TDEE, and you type them a third time. The tools are fine; the joins between them are missing.
CalQlate stores those details once, in your browser, and shares them across every calculator that needs them. Open the every calculator that needs those details already knows them.
How the numbers are worked out
Every calculator states the formula it uses, cites the paper or standard it comes from, and shows a worked example. Where a field has several competing formulas — ideal body weight is the obvious case — we show all of them rather than picking one and hiding the disagreement.
The calculation functions are covered by automated tests that check them against published reference values, so a change cannot quietly break the maths.
What we will not do
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for. Your profile lives in your browser.
- No selling data. We could not if we wanted to — your inputs never reach us.
- No pop-ups or interstitials. They ruin the page and shift the layout while you are reading a result.
- No made-up precision. These formulas are population estimates. Where a result has meaningful error bars, we say so.
Current scope
There are 296 calculators live today, covering health and fitness. Unit converters, financial calculators and everyday maths tools are being added next.
Important limitation
CalQlate gives general information, not professional advice. The health calculators are screening and estimation tools built on population averages, and individuals vary considerably. Nothing here replaces a conversation with a doctor, dietitian or qualified financial adviser. See ourdisclaimer for the full statement.
